Happy New Year to all of our friends in the Columbia River Gorge!  The 2017 legislative sessions bring a fresh opportunity for us to reach out to our lawmakers and remind them who we are, where we are and why we matter in our unique bi-state region.

Our first state capitol event this year will be in Olympia on Wednesday February 15th @ 6:30pm and the volunteers at the One Gorge advocacy group are working with our District 14 hosts Rep Gina McCabe, Rep Norm Johnson and Senator Curtis King to put together a memorable social evening.  Our second event will be on Thursday March 9th at 5:00pmat the Mission Mill in The Dye House located at 1313 Mill Street SE in Salem.

For both events, we encourage your participation and say thank you for considering to be a part of this year’s events!  This is a time for our businesses, organizations and Gorge residents to meet one-on-one with lawmakers and their staff.  We believe these annual events are an important way to make new connections, solidify existing relationships, encourage legislators to visit our region and for us to make a lasting impression.

To make these events a success we would like all of our businesses to actively participate.  Please let me know who at your office would be the primary point of contact for us to communicate with as we continue our planning efforts.  Specifically here are the items that can use your assistance:

Encourage attendance, and join us to represent your business at both events

Please download and share the event flyers:

Provide marketing pieces from your business & community

We want to create a visual impact in our limited space and a short set up time
– pop up/ easel displays are the best (easy up/easy down)

– businesses are encouraged to send displays whether or not they can attend

Request for RAFFLE ITEMS from your local business to share

We request businesses provide 2 of the same item so that one can be shared in Olympia and one in Salem as part of our bi-state promotion
